For people working in the eurozone and sending money to Poland
A higher EUR/PLN rate means each euro converts into more zloty. In August 2026 the best reference day for sending euros home was August 28, at 4.3365. The least favourable was August 26, at 4.2955. Because the two days were so close together, a transfer made one or two days earlier or later could land on either side of the monthly range.
At the average, one zloty was worth 0.23204 euros.
For Polish companies invoicing in euros
Many Polish firms sell in euros and pay costs in zloty. For them, the end of August was the best moment to convert export revenue. For accounting, note that Polish tax rules usually refer to the National Bank of Poland rate of the business day before the transaction, which is a different fixing from the ECB rate shown here. The ECB rate is useful as an international benchmark and for comparing bank offers; for tax records use the source your rules require.
A quick check of your bank's margin
Take the rate your bank applied to a euro transfer and compare it with the ECB fixing of the same day. If the difference is larger than the whole monthly range of 0.95%, the provider's margin cost you more than any timing decision could have saved.
