The shape of August
The first days brought the most expensive dollars of the month. On August 5 the rate fell 0.58% to 33.14, and it spent the next two weeks between 33.013 and 33.13.
The low came in two steps. On August 20 the dollar fell 0.45% to 32.915, and on August 21 it lost another 0.73%, the largest drop of the month, to 32.675.
From there the direction turned. The dollar rose on every remaining fixing of August. The biggest gain, 0.64%, came on the last day. Up and down days were exactly balanced at 10 each, with one unchanged fixing.
